Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager – Tactical Communications to lead a cross-functional IPT focused on next-generation secure communications. You will drive systems engineering activities across lifecycle stages, manage schedule and cost performance, coordinate with external customers, and present program data to leadership.

Travel up to 10% is required; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Experience with the systems development process, including requirements capture, design, decomposition, integration, and verification/validation.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Typically requires STEM degree with 5+ years experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Preferred: leadership of large-scale programs, project management methodologies (Waterfall, SAFe), and EVM.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional Integrated Product Team to develop next-generation Tactical Communications.
• Work with External Customers and interface with stakeholders.
• Participate in lifecycle activities from trade studies to verification/qualification.
• Manage Program Schedule and Cost Performance (SPI/CPI) and help generate IMS.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to meet milestones.
• Facilitate customer demonstrations and program reviews onsite and offsite.
• Lead bid and proposal efforts.
• Present technical and program data to customers and executive leadership.
• Travel up to 10%.
