Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Senior Engineer Project Engineer (PE) / Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead an engineering team delivering mission‑critical capabilities to the warfighter. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams across systems, hardware, software, and firmware, and directly engage with military customers in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Responsibilities include EVM analysis, SETR leadership, risk & opportunity management, and guiding bids/proposals for defense programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams, leadership and customers.
• Experience in avionics systems development, verification/validation, and interfaces.
• Experience utilizing and communicating programmatic earned value (EV) and CAM.
• Active SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technology and engineering focal point for leadership and the customer on various programs.
• Guide engineering development in accordance with Management Systems, Engineering Process, requirements, budget, and schedule.
• Develops and monitors project plans, schedules, and budgets for small to mid-size projects and suggests adjustments to ensure adherence.
• Provide Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis on assigned programs.
• Lead development, planning and executing SETR events (PDR, CDR, TRR, etc).
• Define and manage technical risks & opportunities and develop mitigation plans.
• Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals.
• Works with resource managers to ensure staffing.
