Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Field Construction Manager to lead EPC and Design-Build projects in the electric utility sector, including transmission lines, substations, and distribution infrastructure.

The role provides leadership across the project lifecycle, coordinating with engineering, procurement, and field teams to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery according to contractual and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7 years relevant project management experience in the construction industry.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
• Must be able to meet the company’s driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the construction management team, promoting best practices, safety standards, and project execution.
• Develop, implement and improve construction management processes, templates, and reporting tools.
• Conduct regular site visits to observe progress, safety and quality and identify constructability and scheduling challenges.
• Participate in project kickoffs, construction meetings and coordination activities.
• Support pre-construction sequencing and outage planning.
