Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Construction Project Manager to support EPC Project Managers through pre-construction to warranty. You will oversee safety, quality, schedule, and cost control across multiple projects, liaise with clients, and manage contracts, subcontracts, and procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required for 7 years of relevant project management experience.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) are required.
• Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational abilities are essential.
• Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to meet the company’s driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure successful execution of single or multiple projects.
• Provide direction in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and critical objectives.
• Develop and manage client relationships and interface for proposals and project items.
• Participate in risk reviews and consult with Legal as required.
• Negotiate contracts and change orders.
• Implement sections of the Project Execution Plan including safety, QA, subcontracting, staffing, and procurement.
• Develop staffing plans and coordinate activities across disciplines.
• Verify permits are secured in accordance with project requirements.
• Direct RFP and bid processes and prepare detailed scope of work for subcontractors and clients.
• Review and communicate project reports including budgeting and cash flow.
• Collaborate with engineering to distribute deliverables per schedule.
• Manage contract administration including RFIs, submittals, changes, closeout, and claims mitigation.
• Oversee invoicing for prime contracts and subcontracts.
• Coordinate commissioning and startup teams as needed.
• Ensure project documentation and insurance, taxes, licensures, and bonding compliance.
• Perform safety, quality, progress, and financial audits.
