Job summary

AvatarFleet is seeking a Systems & Security Engineer to own security administration and infrastructure operations. You will partner with the CTO and software teams to maintain SOC 2 Type II readiness, implement patching, and strengthen defenses across Linux and AWS environments.

The role emphasizes reliability, audit readiness, and collaboration with engineering to ensure secure, scalable delivery of AvatarFleet’s DriverHub platform.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Linux systems administration in production.
• Experience with AWS EC2, ECS, IAM, WAF, ALB, S3, EFS.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits with evidence collection.
• Vulnerability management including patching and remediation.
• CI/CD tooling and secure pipeline practices.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day security administration and SOC 2 control execution.
• Maintain patching and vulnerability remediation for Linux hosts and containers.
• Manage AWS infrastructure, backups, monitoring, and cost optimization.
• Support CI/CD deployment, environment configuration, and security settings.
• Document controls, runbooks, and evidence for audits.
• Respond to incidents and coordinate with engineers during outages.
