Job summary

AvatarFleet seeks a Systems & Security Engineer to own security admin, patching, and AWS/Linux operations. You will ensure SOC 2 Type II readiness, manage access controls, and partner with engineering on CI/CD and secure deployment.

This fully remote role reports to the CTO and requires strong hands-on security and reliability focus. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Linux systems administration and AWS, with experience supporting SOC 2 audits and a proactive approach to incident response and

Qualifications

• Hands-on systems and security operator with Linux and AWS experience.
• Experience supporting SOC 2 Type II audits and evidence collection.
• Proven vulnerability management, patching, and remediation skills.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and secure deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day security administration and SOC 2 control execution with CTO and control owners.
• Maintain a year-round control calendar, evidence, remediation, and audit requests.
• Administer access controls, reviews, credential management, and logging.
• Patch Linux hosts, dependencies, containers, and related software with engineering.
