Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Seattle, WA, seeks a Senior System Safety/SEIT engineer to support the New Glenn program. You will work across subsystems to ensure safety, reliability, and risk management from concept through lifecycle, collaborating with multi-discipline teams.

The role requires a strong foundation in system safety, reliability analyses, and system engineering, with leadership capability and a passion for mission assurance in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience within integrated systems.
• Experience with system engineering principles.
• Engineering experience in fluids, thermal, propulsion, avionics, electrical hardware, telemetry/communications, structural, ground operations or flight/ground autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Create, evaluate, and perform reviews of system safety and reliability analyses including Hazard Assessments, FMECAs/HAZOPs, Fault Trees, CCA, Reliability Predictions, RBDs, Human Error Assessments, and Hazard Sheets.
• Evaluate safety products and requirements for compliance with system safety processes and standards (Range Safety, NASA, FAA, MIL-STD-882, ARP-4761).
• Implement and maintain system safety processes and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Train and mentor engineers on system safety risk identification and analysis.
• Assist in generating metrics and report on program system safety statuses.
• Foster and maintain a healthy culture of system safety for New Glenn.
