Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL, is seeking a seasoned SEIT engineer to lead system safety, reliability, and risk activities for the New Glenn program. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure safety requirements are met across subsystems, applying rigorous analysis and lifecycle processes.

The role requires strong technical leadership, experience in system safety methods, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines within a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in integrated systems.
  • Experience with system engineering principles.
  • Experience in analysis, design, or integrated testing.
  • Engineering in fluids, thermal, propulsion, avionics, electrical hardware, or related areas.
  • Strong communication and ability to work with timelines.
  • U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Create and review system safety and reliability analyses (Hazard Assessments, FMECAs/HAZOPs, Fault Trees, RBDs).
  • Evaluate safety products against internal and external standards (NASA, FAA, MIL-STD-882).
  • Implement and maintain system safety processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Train and mentor engineers on system safety risk identification.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering to verify safety requirements compliance.
  • Generate metrics and report on program system safety status.
  • Foster a healthy culture of system safety for the New Glenn program.
