Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a system safety engineer to join the New Glenn SEIT team in Washington. You will lead risk management projects, coordinate design teams, and apply system engineering practices to ensure safety and reliability across the launch vehicle and facilities.

You will analyze requirements, perform safety and regulatory assessments (NASA/FAA/MIL-STD-882/ARP-4761), develop health metrics, and drive continuous improvement in risk reduction while collaborating with multi-disciplinary

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in aerospace/electrical/mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
• Strong system safety, risk, and mission assurance fundamentals.
• Experience interpreting and assessing regulatory requirements and guidance.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team on rapid development programs.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and perform reviews of system risks with technical solutions.
• Assess compliance with system safety processes and standards (NASA/FAA/MIL-STD-882/ARP-4761).
• Implement and maintain risk and safety processes and identify improvements.
• Train engineers on identifying and analyzing system risks.
• Coordinate with systems engineering to verify safety requirements.
• Generate metrics and report program system status.
• Maintain a healthy system safety culture.
