Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Safety Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. The System Safety Engineer will influence design to meet safety requirements, develop safety documents, and support flight test readiness for complex systems.

The role requires MIL-STD-882E, DO-178/DO-254 experience, and active Secret clearance, with 9/80 schedules and relocation assistance possible. Travelling up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required.
• 5+ years with BS; 3+ with MS; 1+ with PhD in STEM.
• Experience using MIL-STD-882E for hazard analysis.
• Experience with Safety Assessment Reports and software safety processes.

Responsibilities

• Influence design to meet safety requirements for products and systems.
• Develop safety documents and safety requirements for assigned systems.
• Participate in design of products/systems and support equipment to ensure safety.
• Evaluate interrelationships of safety requirements to ensure cost-effective programs.
