Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Staff Systems Safety Engineer in Roy, UT to support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. You will help define safety requirements, verify design integrity, and enable flight test readiness in a high-stakes environment.

The role requires strong systems engineering, model-based approaches, and experience with weapon system safety, DO-178/DO-254, and a current Top Secret/SAP readiness mindset.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with active Secret clearance.
• 12+ years with a BS, 10+ with a MS, or 8+ with a PhD in a technical field.
• Experience applying hardware/software safety standards and system safety analyses.

Responsibilities

• Support system safety analyses for missile/weapon systems.
• Develop and review design artifacts to ensure safety and flight readiness.
• Lead architecture/content development and traceability across teams.
