Job summary

Voyager Technologies in California seeks a senior Systems Engineer - Project Engineer V to act as a technical authority for high-complexity defense and aerospace programs, steering architecture, verification, and risk to meet mission and contractual requirements.

The Level V engineer leads IPTs, coordinates with DoD customers, and contributes to enterprise strategy, process improvement, and technology development while mentoring engineers and ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

Active DoD Secret Clearance required or ability to obtain one.
Experience leading large-scale defense/aerospace programs through full lifecycle.
Ability to develop and execute technical strategies aligned with objectives.
Proven leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering and management teams.
Strong architectural judgment for complex trade studies and system integration.

Responsibilities

Lead chief project engineer or senior technical lead for large defense programs.
Define and guide system architecture, verification strategies, and risk management.
Oversee engineering execution across IPTs and major subcontractors for cost/schedule adherence.
chaired design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and ensure technical readiness.
Provide primary engineering interface to DoD customers and management.
