Job summary

Voyager Technologies in the United States seeks a Systems Engineer - Project Engineer V to lead high‑complexity defense and aerospace programs, aligning design, performance, and risk with contract requirements. The Level V engineer provides enterprise‑level engineering leadership and strategic direction.

The role requires active DoD Secret clearance, 10+ years of experience in project or systems engineering, and a proven track record managing large DoD programs.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in project engineering, systems engineering, or program-level technical leadership.
• Experience managing large DoD or MDA programs with complex system integration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as chief project engineer or senior technical lead for large defense/aerospace programs.
• Define and guide system architecture, integration, and verification strategies.
• Oversee engineering execution across IPTs and major subcontractors; ensure cost/schedule compliance.
• Lead baseline definition, configuration management, and system integration planning.
• Chair or support major design reviews and ensure readiness against metrics.
• Interface with executive management and DoD customers for technical discussions.
• Manage Statements of Work and deliverables from subcontractors.
• Develop risk and opportunity management frameworks across programs.
• Mentor project engineers and functional leads.
• Support proposal development, cost estimation and capture efforts.
• Enforce engineering standards and model-based practices.
• Drive process improvements and knowledge management.
