Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to lead a section of systems engineers and drive agile processes across programs. The role blends functional management (about 15%) with direct charge program work (about 85%) on the RAD program.

The successful candidate will manage hiring, development and performance, foster collaboration, and ensure a high-performing, inclusive team aligned with program goals. DoD clearance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 9 years of combined technical and management experience, or Master's with 7 years.
• Experience in Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Systems Analysis, System Architecture, Mission Integration or MBSE.
• Experience leading an engineering team or project.
• Familiarity with AGILE/SCRUM Master, MBSE with Cameo, DODAF 2.0.
• Must have a current DoD Secret clearance and a reinvestigation within last 5 years.
• Experience in SAP/SAR environments and ability to obtain SAP access.

Responsibilities

• Lead a section of systems engineers (15-20 personnel).
• Instruct, mentor and champion agile concepts and processes.
• Be responsible for hiring, development, training, and retention of section talent.
• Provide leadership and direction to the team and manage performance.
• Oversee day-to-day operation including resource balancing across programs.
• Promote professional development and foster collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement.
• Provide assignments and align efforts with the bigger picture, maintaining an inclusive environment.
