Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Department Manager, Engineering M3 to lead our Software organization on-site in Melbourne, FL. Responsible for performance, development, and engagement of a large engineering team, balancing people leadership with technical oversight in a program-driven environment.

The role requires a STEM degree with 9+ years of experience or a Master’s with 7 years, plus 5 years of leadership experience and an active U.S. Government Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 9 years of related engineering experience or Master’s with 7 years.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience, including first-level or higher people management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex solutions within cost and schedule constraints.
• Strong workforce planning and hiring decision capabilities.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or in continuous evaluation with SAP access.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a large engineering organization of section managers and ICs.
• Balance people leadership, technical oversight, and program execution across a complex program.
• Align functional capabilities with program needs to achieve cost, schedule, and technical performance goals.
• Engage cross-functional stakeholders and customers with strong communication.
