Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to lead cross-functional efforts with our design team on unmanned systems for defense and commercial use. You will define requirements, drive architecture, and guide development through prototyping, validation, and testing.

The role requires strong MATLAB skills, experience in simulation/MBSE, and the ability to coordinate with controls engineers while delivering robust system solutions for complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8–12 years of systems engineering experience, preferably in aerospace.
• Experience with requirements traceability and system development cycles.
• Proficiency with Matlab and office productivity tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage requirements traceability and evolution through system development cycle.
• Provide weekly status of system development progress with requirements burn down.
• Allocate requirements to subsystem and engineering coordination.
• Evaluate system performance thresholds and provide direction.
• Develop instrumented flight test vectors and data acquisition input.
• Support model development and simulation analysis.
