Job summary

Voyager Technologies seeks a Systems Engineer VI-PE (Team Manager) to lead multi-disciplinary programs within the Controllable Solid Propulsion department. This role blends technical leadership with people management and reports to the Director of Engineering.

You will guide system architecture, oversee IPTs and subcontractors, chair design reviews, and coordinate with DoD customers. Hybrid or remote work options are available, with base locations including Folsom, Reno, Huntsville, Long Beach,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering or related field.
• Fifteen years of project engineering experience.
• Expertise in system integration, verification planning, and risk-based engineering.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and engage executive audiences.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as chief project engineer or senior technical lead for defense programs.
• Lead a team of approximately 10 engineers with people leadership duties.
• Define system architecture, integration, and verification strategies.
• Oversee execution across IPTs and major subcontractors for cost, schedule, and performance.
• Lead design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and ensure readiness and compliance.
• Interface with DoD customers and executive management on milestones.
• Manage SOWs, subcontractor deliverables, and major supplier inputs.
• Mentor staff and support proposals and cost estimation activities.
