Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer VI-PE (Team Manager) to lead major defense programs, reporting to the Director of Engineering from the Controllable Solid Propulsion department in Folsom, CA. This role is hybrid or remote and can be based in Folsom, Reno, Huntsville, Long Beach, CA, or fully remote.

You will guide system architecture, verification planning, and integration across IPTs, mentor a team of about 10 engineers, manage SOWs and major suppliers, and support proposals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline; Master’s preferred.
• Fifteen (15) years of project engineering experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical execution across multidisciplinary teams and engage executives.

Responsibilities

• Chief project engineer or senior technical lead for defense programs.
• Lead a team of ~10 engineers and provide people leadership.
• Define system architecture, verification strategies, and objectives.
• Oversee IPTs and subcontractors for cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Lead design and integration reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
• Interface with DoD customers and executive management.
• Manage SOWs and major supplier inputs.
• Develop risk and opportunity management frameworks.
• Provide mentorship and technical oversight to engineers.
• Support proposals and cost estimation.
