Job summary

Voyager Technologies seeks a Systems Engineer V-PE (Team Manager) to lead defense and aerospace programs from a senior technical stance, guiding system architecture and verification while mentoring engineers. The role reports to the Director of Engineering and sits in the Controllable Solid Propulsion lineup with hybrid/remote options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 10 years of project engineering experience with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong system integration, verification planning, and risk-based engineering experience.
• Ability to lead execution across programs and subcontractors; strong communication at executive level.
• Proficiency with engineering management and project planning tools; ability to mentor staff.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as chief project engineer or senior technical lead for defense and aerospace programs.
• Define system architecture, integration, and verification strategies aligned with mission objectives.
• Oversee execution across IPTs and subcontractors for cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Lead baselining, configuration management, and major design reviews.
• Interface with executive management and DoD customers for technical interchange and milestone reviews.
• Manage technical deliverables, SOWs, and supplier inputs; support proposals and cost estimation.
• Develop risk and opportunity management and drive process improvements.
