Placements24 is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for a fully remote role within the energy sector. You will design, develop, and deploy scalable systems supporting renewable energy projects, architect cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP, and build APIs and microservices for energy management platforms.

You will lead backend and infrastructure efforts, ensure reliability and security, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with a global, cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, EE, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, software development, or related roles with backend focus.
• Proven experience designing and managing complex, distributed systems.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including IaaS and PaaS.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or C++.
• Strong knowledge of containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fully remote, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of large-scale, mission-critical systems for renewable energy applications.
• Architect and implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions for data acquisition, processing, and analysis.
• Develop and maintain robust APIs and microservices to support energy management platforms.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of all deployed systems.
• Collaborate with software developers, data scientists, and domain experts to define system requirements.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize accordingly.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Stay current with emerging energy systems and cloud computing trends.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and strategic technology planning.
