Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead the design and oversight of renewable energy civil works on solar and wind projects. This remote-first role requires strong self-discipline and virtual collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.

You will drive feasibility studies, develop drawings and tender docs, and supervise remote construction while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA required.
• Minimum 8 years experience in civil engineering with infrastructure design and construction.
• Experience with renewable energy projects (solar/wind) or large-scale civil infrastructure essential.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS and project management tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership and ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design for renewable energy projects including site grading, drainage, foundation design for turbines and access roads.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments and environmental impact assessments.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, specs and tender documents for civil works packages.
• Oversee remote construction supervision and QA for civil elements with site teams and contractors.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, coordinating virtually with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and renewable energy guidelines.
