Job summary

Redtree Engineering seeks a Senior Power Systems Engineer with deep expertise in large load and renewable interconnections, dynamic modeling, and critical power system design to support transmission-level planning, system impact studies, and EPC design efforts for utility-scale renewable projects, BESS, and hyperscale data center developments.

This 100% remote role across the United States focuses on delivering power systems and controls solutions, ISO/RTO compliance, and practical engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with focus on Power Systems preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in power systems planning, interconnection studies, or critical power/BESS engineering.
• Strong experience with PSSE dynamic modeling, PSCAD EMT modeling, and ETAP protection studies.
• Experience with generation interconnection (PV, wind, BESS) and ERCOT or other ISO/RTO requirements.
• Experience embedding PPC and MPC control strategies and RTDS/RSCAD CHIL testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform large load and interconnection studies for ERCOT and other transmission systems.
• Develop and validate ETAP/PSSE dynamic models and PSCAD EMT models for data centers, PV, wind, and BESS resources.
• Support or lead control system integration of PPCs and MPCs for battery storage and microgrid projects.
• Interface with TSPs, ISO/RTOs, developers, OEMs, and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to HV/MV substation studies and grid-forming technology assessments.
