Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or related technology degree.
• 5+ years of professional, post-graduate engineering experience.
• Preferred: BS in Mechanical, Marine, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Active DOD Secret clearance (preferred).
• Prior Naval Nuclear Program experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Proactive engagement with shipyard trades and test organizations to avoid pitfalls and ensure first-time quality and on-time completion of work.
• Continuous engagement with vendors, both remotely and on-site, to aid manufacturing process changes and clear bottlenecks for in-yard delivery.
• Developing technical rationale and sound engineering recommendations to prime contractors (KAPL, BPMI) and to the Navy for approval of non-conformances.
• Design, maintenance, and issuance of test equipment drawings with focus on technical quality and end-user experience; review of test procedures for specifications and functionality.
• Conduct feasibility studies, design development, and on-hull implementation of system and component design changes to improve performance, acoustics, or manufacturability; travel up to 25% to vendor facilities would be required.
