Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services is actively seeking experienced engineering professionals to support DOE missions at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX. The role emphasizes machining background, configuration management, and strong communication across multi-disciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited engineering degree (BS or MS) with extensive relevant experience and are eligible for a DOE Q clearance.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited BS degree in an Engineering discipline plus 10+ years of relevant professional experience or a MS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience.
Machining experience required.
Ability to obtain/maintain a DOE Q clearance.
Candidates with systems and equipment experience in mechanical and electrical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Support new machining center installations and/or existing machining production operations through supporting configuration management activities, various paperwork activities, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
Perform troubleshooting and improvement activities.
Apply systems and equipment expertise to resolve technical system and equipment issues in cooperation with other related disciplines.
Interface effectively with clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
Work in a production environment; experience in an NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable.
