Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Services is seeking Senior Mechanical Engineers to design and procure equipment for high-importance DOE projects at Y-12 and Pantex. You will develop build-to-print design packages, write specifications and datasheets, and perform advanced machine design calculations including FEA, structural and seismic analyses, and heat transfer studies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in design/specification of custom mechanical equipment.
• 20+ years total engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• Active DOE Q clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Create design and procurement documents for specialty equipment.
• Develop build-to-print design packages and specifications.
• Perform machine design calculations including FEA, structural/seismic, heat transfer.
• Lead multi-discipline teams across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation/controls, HVAC, piping and welding.
