Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a mid-level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer to perform software systems engineering for aviation programs. This on-site role at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD requires an active Secret clearance and offers a path to Top Secret clearance.

The candidate will develop software requirements, coordinate with vendors, and participate in SE technical reviews, Agile/SAFe processes, and ECP/CDRL activities within a disciplined, government-friendly environment.

Qualifications

At least ten years of experience performing software and systems engineering activities.
Experience with military aircraft avionics systems and/or software.
BS in a technical discipline from an ABET-accredited program.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain software requirements
Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
Conduct analysis of software defects
Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts
Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, etc.)
Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and CDRLs
Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals
