Job summary

SimVentions, an employee-owned company, seeks a mid-level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer for software systems engineering across aviation programs. This full-time on-site role is based at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD and is funded to begin after September 1, 2026.

An ACTIVE Secret clearance is required (Top Secret possible later); US citizenship is required. Ten years of software/systems engineering experience and familiarity with military avionics are expected.

Qualifications

• At least ten years experience performing software and systems engineering activities.
• Experience with military aircraft avionic systems and/or software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
• Conduct analysis of software defects
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject Matter experts
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs)
• Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
• Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
• Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
• Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
• Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals
