Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a mid-level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer to perform software systems engineering for aviation programs at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD. The role requires an ACTIVE Secret clearance and is on-site full-time. This position is future funded and not expected to begin before September 1, 2026.

The compensation range is $120,000–$176,000 USD per year, with full benefits. US citizenship is required; Top Secret clearance may be pursued after onboarding.

Qualifications

• At least ten years of software and systems engineering experience.
• Experience with military aircraft avionic systems and/or software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
• Conduct analysis of software defects
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, etc.)
• Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
• Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
• Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
• Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
• Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals
