Job summary

SimVentions seeks a mid-level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer for on-site work at the NAVAIR base in Patuxent River, MD. An ACTIVE Secret clearance and US citizenship are required.

This role is future funded and expected to begin no earlier than 1 September 2026. Responsibilities include developing software requirements, reviewing vendor specifications, integrating with vendors, analyzing defects, and supporting Agile/SAFe processes and engineering reviews.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of software and systems engineering experience.
• Experience with military aircraft avionics systems and/or software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements.
• Review vendor software specifications.
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration.
• Conduct analysis of software defects.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity SMEs.
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs).
• Support the ECP process.
• Participate in Agile and SAFe processes.
• Prepare and review SOWs and CDRLs.
• Develop IGCEs.
• Support evaluations of contractor proposals.
