Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a mid‑level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer for on-site work at the NAVAIR base in MD. The role involves software systems engineering across acquisition, development, and sustainment of aviation programs, with a focus on requirements, integration, and reviews.

An ACTIVE Secret clearance is required, with potential for Top Secret later. The position is fully funded and targets September 1, 2026, with competitive compensation reflecting experience and security

Qualifications

At least ten years experience performing software and systems engineering activities.
Experience with military aircraft avionic systems and/or software.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain software requirements.
Review and evaluate vendor software specifications.
Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration.
Conduct analysis of software defects.
Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts.
Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, etc.).
Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process.
Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes.
Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals.
