Job summary

Korry Electronics in Everett, WA seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the technical architecture and integration of civil and military avionics display systems, driving requirements, hazard analysis, and hardware-software integration to ensure safety and reliability.

You will mentor teammates and own certification activities, reviewing DO-254, DO-178, ARP 4754 artifacts and coordinating with engineering, test, and quality to meet customer and regulatory demands.

Qualifications

• Must have bachelor-level degree in an aerospace engineering discipline.
• Experience with avionics architecture and lifecycle development.
• Familiarity with DO-254, DO-178, ARP 4754 and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, development and certification of aerospace subsystems.
• Capture, develop and maintain requirements for systems and subsystems.
• Develop architectures for systems, hardware and software to meet safety needs.
• Produce and maintain artifacts for planning, design, validation and verification.
• Review designs against upper-level requirements and manage configuration in DOORS.
• Lead design activities with Engineering, Test and Quality teams.

Join Korry Electronics as a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the technical architecture and integration of cutting-edge civil and military avionics display systems. In this role, you will drive the full technical lifecycle—from requirements and hazard analysis to hardware-software integration—ensuring the safety and reliability of the world’s most advanced aircraft.

What You Will Do:

As a technical leader within a multi-disciplined team, you will spearhead the conceptualization, development, and certification of aerospace subsystems. You will work in a fast-paced, creative environment to design robust architectures while providing the technical direction necessary to ensure strict compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Primary Responsibilities:

• Capture, develop andmaintainsystem and subsystemrequirements
• Develop product architectures for systems, hardware, and software to meet performance and safety requirements
• Produce andmaintainprojectartifactsrelated toplanning, requirements, design,validationandverification
• Help manage, write and review ARP4754, DO-254, and DO-178 certification artifacts
• Review designsartifacts(documents,schematics, code, drawings, etc.)againstupper-levelrequirements
• Maintain configuration management of the requirements in a controlled environment using DOORS
• Lead the design activities in collaboration with the other functions (engineering, test, quality)
• Primary point of contact for technical discussions with both customers and suppliers
• Participate in or conduct risk assessments and contingency plans
• Effectively communicatetechnical concepts and innovative design ideas
• Participate in hardware and software test planning and execution
• Keep up to date knowledge of international airworthinessregulationsand new product certification initiatives
• Proactively identify and execute process improvements related to product design and development process

PreferredEducation

• Bachelor's Degree inSystems Engineering,Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science,Mathor other aerospace engineering discipline

PreferredExperience

• 7-10years of engineering experience
• Proven experience in full life cycle design of systems for aerospace orany other highly regulated industry

Preferred Specialized Skills and Abilities

• Understanding of avionics systems architecture with emphasis onaircraftinstallations and operations,human-systems interface design,aircraftdigital data buses and protocols, analog and digital system interfaces and modernaircraftsystem architecture
• Experienced in the development of avionics architecture, requirements, hardware or software design, and/or system verification
• Working knowledge of industry airworthiness standards and regulations, includingFARsand Regulatory Guidance, assurancestandardsand methods: DO-160, DO-254,DO-178 and/orARP 4754
• Certification experience to industry processesSTC, TC, and TSO
• Skilled inrequirements management, and experience withDOORS
• Model BasedDesignexperienceis a plus
• Experience with Jira, ADO, or other program management tools is a plus.
• Experience and knowledge of cyber security protocols like DO-326 is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers
• Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computers
• The person in this position needs tofrequentlymove inside the office
• Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus
• This position is onsite.

Salary Range:

The typical hiring range for this role is:

• Level III: $112,000-$168,000
• Level IV: $129,000–$193,000
