What You Will Do:
As a technical leader within a multi-disciplined team, you will spearhead the conceptualization, development, and certification of aerospace subsystems. You will work in a fast-paced, creative environment to design robust architectures while providing the technical direction necessary to ensure strict compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Primary Responsibilities:
- Capture, develop andmaintainsystem and subsystemrequirements
- Develop product architectures for systems, hardware, and software to meet performance and safety requirements
- Produce andmaintainprojectartifactsrelated toplanning, requirements, design,validationandverification
- Help manage, write and review ARP4754, DO-254, and DO-178 certification artifacts
- Review designsartifacts(documents,schematics, code, drawings, etc.)againstupper-levelrequirements
- Maintain configuration management of the requirements in a controlled environment using DOORS
- Lead the design activities in collaboration with the other functions (engineering, test, quality)
- Primary point of contact for technical discussions with both customers and suppliers
- Participate in or conduct risk assessments and contingency plans
- Effectively communicatetechnical concepts and innovative design ideas
- Participate in hardware and software test planning and execution
- Keep up to date knowledge of international airworthinessregulationsand new product certification initiatives
- Proactively identify and execute process improvements related to product design and development process
PreferredEducation
- Bachelor's Degree inSystems Engineering,Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science,Mathor other aerospace engineering discipline
PreferredExperience
- 7-10years of engineering experience
- Proven experience in full life cycle design of systems for aerospace orany other highly regulated industry
Preferred Specialized Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of avionics systems architecture with emphasis onaircraftinstallations and operations,human-systems interface design,aircraftdigital data buses and protocols, analog and digital system interfaces and modernaircraftsystem architecture
- Experienced in the development of avionics architecture, requirements, hardware or software design, and/or system verification
- Working knowledge of industry airworthiness standards and regulations, includingFARsand Regulatory Guidance, assurancestandardsand methods: DO-160, DO-254,DO-178 and/orARP 4754
- Certification experience to industry processesSTC, TC, and TSO
- Skilled inrequirements management, and experience withDOORS
- Model BasedDesignexperienceis a plus
- Experience with Jira, ADO, or other program management tools is a plus.
- Experience and knowledge of cyber security protocols like DO-326 is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers
- Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computers
- The person in this position needs tofrequentlymove inside the office
- Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- This position is onsite.
Eligibility Requirements:

Salary Range:
The typical hiring range for this role is:
- Level III: $112,000-$168,000
- Level IV: $129,000–$193,000
