Job summary

Korry Electronics is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the technical architecture and integration of civil and military avionics display systems in Seattle. You will guide the full lifecycle from requirements to hardware-software integration, ensuring safety and reliability for next-generation aircraft.

You will mentor others, drive regulatory compliance, and collaborate with engineering, test, and quality teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an aerospace engineering discipline or related field.
  • Experience with aerospace or regulated industries is required.
  • Proficiency in requirements management and system architecture is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Capture and maintain system and subsystem requirements.
  • Develop architectures for hardware and software to meet safety needs.
  • Lead certification artifacts and compliance activities (ARP4754, DO-254, DO-178).
  • Coordinate with customers and suppliers on technical discussions.
  • Mentor team members and drive risk assessments and contingency plans.
  • Maintain DOORS-based configuration management and artifact reviews.

Job description

Join Korry Electronics as a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the technical architecture and integration of cutting-edge civil and military avionics display systems. In this role, you will drive the full technical lifecycle—from requirements and hazard analysis to hardware-software integration—ensuring the safety and reliability of the world’s most advanced aircraft.

What You Will Do:

As a technical leader within a multi-disciplined team, you will spearhead the conceptualization, development, and certification of aerospace subsystems. You will work in a fast-paced, creative environment to design robust architectures while providing the technical direction necessary to ensure strict compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. This is your opportunity to mentor others and directly impact the performance and success of next-generation flight-deck technology.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Capture, develop and maintain system and subsystem requirements
  • Develop product architectures for systems, hardware, and software to meet performance and safety requirements
  • Produce and maintain project artifacts related to planning, requirements, design, validation and verification
  • Help manage, write and review ARP4754, DO-254, and DO-178 certification artifacts
  • Review designs artifacts (documents, schematics, code, drawings, etc.) against upper-level requirements
  • Maintain configuration management of the requirements in a controlled environment using DOORS
  • Lead the design activities in collaboration with the other functions (engineering, test, quality)
  • Primary point of contact for technical discussions with both customers and suppliers
  • Participate in or conduct risk assessments and contingency plans
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts and innovative design ideas
  • Participate in hardware and software test planning and execution
  • Keep up to date knowledge of international airworthiness regulations and new product certification initiatives
  • Proactively identify and execute process improvements related to product design and development process
Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Math or other aerospace engineering discipline
Preferred Experience
  • 7-10 years of engineering experience
  • Proven experience in full life cycle design of systems for aerospace or any other highly regulated industry
Preferred Specialized Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of avionics systems architecture with emphasis on aircraft installations and operations, human-systems interface design, aircraft digital data buses and protocols, analog and digital system interfaces and modern aircraft system architecture
  • Experienced in the development of avionics architecture, requirements, hardware or software design, and/or system verification
  • Working knowledge of industry airworthiness standards and regulations, including FARs and Regulatory Guidance, assurance standards and methods: DO-160, DO-254, DO-178 and/or ARP 4754
  • Certification experience to industry processes STC, TC, and TSO
  • Skilled in requirements management, and experience with DOORS
  • Model Based Design experience is a plus
  • Experience with Jira, ADO, or other program management tools is a plus.
  • Experience and knowledge of cyber security protocols like DO-326 is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers
  • Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computers
  • The person in this position needs to frequently move inside the office
  • Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus
  • This position is onsite.
Eligibility Requirements:

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization

Salary Range:

The typical hiring range for this role is:

  • Level III: $112,000-$168,000
  • Level IV: $129,000–$193,000
