Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions seeks a Systems Architect in Valley Green, PA to drive architectural design and technical strategy for high-speed backplane connectors.

You will translate system-level requirements for hyperscale and AI/ML infrastructure into connector architectures, guide roadmaps with engineering and product teams, and present technical briefs to executives. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) is desirable.
• Role draws on electronic or mechanical engineering backgrounds (signal transmission, EMI/EMC, or CAD).
• Minimum 10 years of hardware/interconnect experience in IT/Datacom.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and technical strategy for customer solutions involving high-speed backplane connectors (board-to-board, hybrid, related topologies).
• Serve as technical face of HSBP for strategic customers, translating system-level requirements into connector architecture direction.
• Guide HSBP roadmap with SI/engineering, mechanical design, and product management, aligning with emerging standards.
• Prepare and deliver high-level technical presentations to stakeholders and executives.
• Provide advanced technical support on complex backplane interconnect problems.
• Differentiate HSBP products relative to competitors' backplane solutions.
• Partner with other business units to ensure a consistent systems-level narrative across Amphenol's interconnect portfolio.
• Some travel required.
