Job summary

Gene by Gene, Ltd. in Houston, TX, seeks a senior Systems Administrator III to own the availability, security, and performance of the infrastructure powering our laboratory and corporate operations across US, UK, and Australia.

You will administer Windows Server and Linux, manage AD/Entra ID, cloud services, and enterprise storage, serving as the senior escalation point for complex issues affecting production systems.

Qualifications

• Advanced Windows Server administration and Linux troubleshooting.
• Experience with Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) and automation experience.
• Backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring tooling experience.
• Ability to drive security, compliance, and incident response in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server environments and Linux systems across locations.
• Manage virtualization, storage, AD/Entra ID, and cloud identity services.
• Maintain network infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, and site connectivity.
• Implement security controls and disaster recovery procedures.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex incidents across regions.
• Automate repetitive admin tasks and maintain runbooks.
• Lead infrastructure projects and coordinate with regional teams.
