Job summary

RTX in Woburn, MA seeks a Principal Systems Administrator to support Windows and Linux enterprise environments in a DoD cleared, 24x7 operation. You will design, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient infrastructure across classified programs, collaborating with Cyber Security, DevSecOps, and Networking teams.

Required are a DoD secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and experience with VMware, Windows/Linux, scripting, and hardening.

Qualifications

• Typically, bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Able to obtain a U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Must have an DoD interim clearance to start
• Experience administering and securing Windows and RHEL servers
• Experience with VMware virtualization
• Experience with securing system configurations, system hardening
• Experience with scripting

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Principal Systems Administrator supporting Windows and Linux enterprise environments, designing, implementing, maintaining, patching and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security teams to maintain continuous compliance with DoD and regulatory requirements.
• Design, deploy and maintain virtual infrastructure using VMware ESXi and vCenter, including lifecycle management and host upgrades.
• Engineer and sustain imaging, deployment and automation solutions using MECM/SCCM, PXE, and Windows imaging.
• Administer core Windows services and integrations (Active Directory, Group Policy, authentication).
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve infrastructure challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide on-site support in a DoD closed-area environment, with occasional after-hours and up to 10% travel.
