Job summary

Raytheon in El Segundo/Goleta, CA is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer for an onsite role. You will develop MIL-STD-882E compliant safety programs and perform system safety analyses throughout the product lifecycle.

You will coordinate with customer safety representatives to gain approvals, prepare reports, and interface with multiple engineering disciplines to eliminate hazards and ensure safety is integrated in design and development.

Qualifications

• STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant safety experience.
• Experience in system and software safety engineering.
• Active and transferable final Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Develop MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs.
• Perform system safety analyses and hazard evaluations.
• Coordinate with customer safety reps to obtain approvals.
• Prepare internal and customer safety reports and briefings.
• Interface with Systems, Software, Electrical, and Hardware engineering.
• Lead System Safety Working Groups and support special access programs.
