Job summary

Raytheon Technologies seeks a Senior Principal System Safety Engineer to join onsite in Tewksbury, MA, leading system safety activities across the lifecycle and coordinating with program management and government authorities.

You will develop MIL-STD-882E compliant safety programs, mentor engineers, and collaborate across engineering teams to identify and mitigate risks while ensuring delivery of secure and compliant systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with DoD System Safety Programs (MIL-STD-882/DO-178).
• Ability to obtain/maintain Secret security clearance (US).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs.
• Mentor junior safety engineers and lead safety reviews.
• Lead System Safety Working Groups with Raytheon and customer representatives.
• Analyze engineering hardware, drawings, and schematics for fault tolerance and safety compliance.
• Collaborate across engineering functions to identify and mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with program management and government authorities through lifecycle stages.
