Job summary

Raytheon in McKinney, TX is seeking a System Safety professional to develop and execute MIL-STD-882E compliant safety programs across hardware and software.

You will perform hazard analyses, coordinate with customer safety representatives to secure approvals, work across engineering disciplines, and support safety from program startup through disposal, with reporting to internal and customer audiences.

This role requires an active DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Experience with System Safety Engineering and/or Software Safety Engineering.
• Experience with complex systems and evaluating them for risk.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs and perform associated tasks.
• Coordinate with customer safety representatives and Safety Review Board authorities to gain safety approval.
• Work across integrated product teams with engineering disciplines to eliminate hazards or implement controls.
