Job summary

RTX is seeking Senior System Safety Engineers for onsite roles in multiple U.S. locations (Woburn, Marlborough, Andover, Portsmouth RI, etc.).

The role focuses on developing MIL-STD-882E system safety programs, hazard analyses, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to ensure safety across the product lifecycle. Candidates should have STEM degrees, 5+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to obtain DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in System Safety Engineering and related engineering domains.
• Experience writing technical reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs and analyses.
• Coordinate with customer safety representatives and approval authorities.
• Collaborate across disciplines to eliminate hazards and implement controls.
• Provide lifecycle safety oversight from startup to disposal.
• Prepare internal and customer-facing safety reports and program status.
