Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Orlando is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer to lead hazard analyses and implement safety programs for advanced systems. You will develop safety assessments, recommend criteria, and coordinate safety efforts across design, software, and procedures.

The role requires delivering technical presentations, reviewing designs for safety impact, and participating in accident investigations. A DoD clearance may be required and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Experience developing and implementing a System Safety Program IAW MIL-STD-882.
• Developing and evaluating system safety requirements.
• Familiarity with Software Safety Program IAW AOP-52 and DoD guidelines.
• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and its analyses.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to present to large groups.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop hazard analyses and safety assessments.
• Recommend safety criteria in design and procedures.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and documentation.
• Lead System Safety Working Group meetings.
• Review specs for safety impacts.
• Participate in accident investigations and identify corrective actions.
