Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation seeks a System Operations Tech Trainer to develop and deliver knowledge-based training for Bulk Electric System Operators, using ADDIE methodologies and aligned with NERC PER standards.

You will mentor new and experienced operators, design training materials, and evaluate learning using simulations and assessments while collaborating with the SysOps training team for best practices.

Qualifications

• Technical degree is required.
• Two (2) years related work experience in addition to the degree.
• In lieu of Technical degrees, High School/GED plus 4 years related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee training and development of new Bulk Electric System Operators using ADDIE and in accordance with NERC PER Training Standards and Duke Energy's System Operator Qualification Program.
• Oversee performance development of NERC Certified Bulk Electric System Operators following NERC and FERC training standards and certification programs.
• Collaborate with the Director and SysOps trainers to stay current on training practices and disseminate innovative approaches to operator training.
• Communicate emerging training tools and methods to the Training Director for consideration.
• Document and track System Operator training and continuing education hours per NERC guidelines.
• Develop training for simulation scenarios, operate the training simulator, and create content with an e-learning SME for web-based delivery.
• Handle unexpected training challenges in the operator training environment without compromising learning quality.
• Engage ECC GMs/Managers in training planning and keep leadership informed of training matters.
• Demonstrate positive, professional interactions and support an inclusive workplace.
