Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking an Associate System Operator to begin a trainee path within the System Operator hierarchy. You will develop the credentials and competencies required under the SOQP while monitoring bulk electric system parameters and ensuring operations stay within defined limits.

You will train under a System Operator I or higher, with 24x7 shift rotations and eventual credentialing to advance through the system operator levels.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or 2–4 years related work experience.
• Willingness to work 24x7 rotating shift schedules.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain NERC System Operator certification and necessary verifications.

Responsibilities

• Obtains job task verifications and improves knowledge and performance.
• Prepares for and passes the NERC system operator certification exam under supervision.
• Completes training requirements including ERO standards and regional certifications.
