Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to deliver simple solutions to complex problems and tailor cutting‑edge technology to client needs.

You will design server and application architectures, maintain security, and guide engineers while remaining current on OS and tools. This role requires a TS/SCI clearance and is based on site at Fort Liberty, NC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Linux and Red Hat certifications preferred.
• Experience with virtualization and enterprise storage.
• Experience with scripting and automation.
• Excellent communication and briefing skills.
• Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers.

Responsibilities

• Designs server and application architectures; maintenance of server hardware/software.
• Maintains security, monitors logs, and protects against intrusions.
• Keeps baseline configurations and modifies settings as needed.
• Troubleshoots system problems and responds to incidents.
• Provides leadership to less experienced admins.
• Stays current with OS/software developments and applications.
• Recommends future projects and directions to management.
• Guides development or modification of software to enhance OS.
