Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) is seeking a Systems Engineer Senior to design and implement scalable server and application architectures on customer sites. You will manage security, configurations, and incident response while guiding junior engineers toward cutting-edge solutions.

You will leverage Linux, VMware, and automation tools to deliver reliable, high-performance systems and contribute to evolving capabilities for our clients in a top-secret environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience
• Linux experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux
• RHEL 7 or later experience
• Security+ certification (DoD 8140)
• Experience with virtualization and VMware ESXi/vCenter
• Experience with automation/configuration tools (AWX, GitLab)
• Experience with NetApp ONTAP
• Database experience with SQL/Postgres/Redis
• Scripting in bash, Python
• Excellent communication and leadership for engineers

Responsibilities

• Designs server and application architectures; administers server hardware and software
• Maintains system security; monitors logs and protects against intrusions
• Maintains baseline configurations and modifies settings
• Institutes troubleshooting and incident response procedures
• Troubleshoots system related problems
• Provides leadership to less experienced administrators
• Keeps current in OS/software developments and applications
• Offers direction in development/modification of software to enhance OS
