Job summary

ASEC in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support the Navy's LVC training environment. You will administer Windows and Linux servers, manage virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and ensure mission-critical applications run reliably for distributed training events.

Qualifications include 7 years of DoD IT experience, RMF/STIG knowledge, and security compliance. A Bachelor's in a STEM field is acceptable in lieu of part of the experience.

Qualifications

• 7 years of DoD IT experience required; STEM degree may substitute.
• Experience administering virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V) with provisioning and performance tuning.
• Proven ability to deploy enterprise server infra, storage, backup and DR in classified/unclassified settings.
• Experience implementing RMF, STIGs, and vulnerability remediation best practices.
• Experience supporting DoD/Navy/NAVAIR environments highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows and Linux servers for simulation, training, and mission planning.
• Manage VMware, Hyper‑V, or cloud virtualization environments.
• Maintain storage, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Apply patching, upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Install and maintain simulation software and middleware.
• Support distributed training across multiple sites.
• Configure app servers for LVC exercises and ensure large-scale event readiness.
• Implement RMF controls and system security hardening.
