Job summary

ASEC is seeking a Network Systems Engineer in Norfolk, VA to implement, troubleshoot, and sustain secure network systems supporting Navy Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training. You will configure equipment, support integration, and maintain accurate technical documentation for a DoD environment.

The role requires 6+ years of enterprise network experience, TS clearance eligibility, and proficiency with TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, and firewall controls. Travel up to 25% is possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience as a network engineer or technician.
• Experience implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, rack elevations, cable schedules, and installation documentation.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement and troubleshoot network solutions per approved designs, architectures, and engineering requirements.
• Configure, deploy, and support routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing, and LAN/WAN connections.
• Review and interpret network diagrams, rack elevations, cable schedules, installation drawings, and other engineering documentation.
• Support installation and integration of network equipment, including verification of equipment, cabling, connections, and configuration against approved documentation.
• Assist with evaluation of copper and fiber connectivity, rack layouts, cable pathways, and infrastructure requirements.
• Execute network integration and test procedures; troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and interoperability issues and document results.
• Support network hardening and STIG implementation in coordination with ISSO and ISSE personnel.
• Assist with RMF technical evidence, remediation activities, configuration updates, and security documentation.
• Maintain network configuration baselines, equipment inventories, bills of material, change records, and operational documentation.
• Identify technical issues and risks, recommend solutions, and communicate findings to senior engineers, customers, and program leadership.
• Support the development and updating of network engineering and installation documentation.
• This position may require up to 25% annual travel.
