Job summary

ASEC, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Systems Engineer to lead a team delivering design, implementation, security, and sustainment of Navy LVC network infrastructure in Norfolk, VA.

You will translate approved requirements into reliable, supportable network implementations and mentor engineers. The role involves creating network designs, documenting installation drawings, and coordinating with ISSO/ISSE for RMF actions.

Qualifications

• 9 years of progressively responsible experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise and tactical network infrastructures.
• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, integrating, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure.
• Ability to develop and interpret network engineering drawings, rack elevations, cable schedules, and installation documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop network designs and implementation plans addressing connectivity, performance, availability, security, and integration requirements.
• Prepare and interpret engineering design packages, logical and physical network diagrams, rack elevations, one-line diagrams, cable schedules, and installation drawings.
• Evaluate copper and fiber cabling pathways, rack layouts, and inside/outside plant interfaces; coordinate infrastructure requirements with facility and installation teams.
• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing, and LAN/WAN connections within approved network architectures.
• Provide technical oversight during installation, verify work against approved drawings, and document discrepancies and as-built changes.
• Develop and execute network integration and test procedures; diagnose connectivity, performance, and interoperability issues and document results.
• Coordinate with ISSO and ISSE personnel on network hardening, STIG implementation, remediation, and technical evidence supporting RMF activities.
• Maintain configuration baselines, equipment inventories, bills of material, change records, and operational documentation; mentor team members and brief technical risks.
