Job summary

TAP Engineering is seeking a System Administrator Level 2 in Hanover, MD to support enterprise IT systems across servers, storage, networking, and end-user environments. The role emphasizes high availability and performance in a mission-focused setting.

Key responsibilities include Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaboration with internal teams to maintain secure IT operations. Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience supporting IT systems and infrastructure.
• Experience administering Windows and/or UNIX/Linux operating systems.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network systems.
• Experience providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems.
• Manage day-to-day system operations, including monitoring and performance tuning.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for system and hardware issues.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across client, server, storage, and network devices.
• Configure and manage UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization.
• Perform system capacity analysis and planning.
• Support escalation processes and communicate system status to stakeholders.
