Job summary

Ford Motor Company in the United States seeks a Technical Expert (LL6) to lead the in-house design and delivery process for Suspension Structural Components, including stampings, castings, and forgings. You will develop engineering foundations, manage FMEAs and control plans, and drive tool feasibility reviews with suppliers.

You will guide in-house simulations, participate in DOE studies, and ensure readiness for production through APQP activities and sign-offs.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required and 10+ years in chassis structural design.
• Extensive experience with suspension structural components (stampings, castings, forgings).
• Experience delivering DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans and geometry drawings with GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of an in-house design and manufacturing process for suspension structural parts.
• Develop and maintain internal engineering foundation documents including design guides and interface contracts.
• Create and manage technical materials: FMEAs, Control Plans, Safe Launch Plans, and Sub-component BOMs.
• Lead DFM/ DFA feasibility reviews prior to tool kickoff and ensure tool/design alignment.
• Drive in-house manufacturing simulations to optimize structure and process feasibility.
• Lead OK-to-tool with suppliers including steel purchase and finishing steps.
• Lead root cause analysis and problem resolution (8D, JIRA) for quality issues.
