Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Technical Expert (LL6) in Vehicle Hardware Engineering to lead the design and integration of suspension structural components. The role requires advanced knowledge of design for manufacturability, DFMEA/ PFMEA, and GD&T, with extensive collaboration across suppliers and internal teams.

You will drive in-house process development, perform manufacturing simulations, and oversee PPAP readiness while aligning tools, plant equipment, and process capability.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required.
• 10 years of experience in chassis structural design and engineering.
• Extensive experience in suspension structural components (stampings, castings, forgings).
• Deep understanding of BTPS deliverables and PPAP requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-house design and manufacturing process for suspension structural parts.
• Develop and maintain design foundation documents and interface contracts.
• Create and manage DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and sub-component BOMs.
• Lead DFM/ DFA feasibility reviews prior to tool kickoff.
• Drive in-house manufacturing process simulations to optimize formability and flow.
• Lead OK-to-build/OK-to-ship reviews with suppliers and gauge/fixture designs.
